This course is designed to help students who meet the education eligibility requirements for the CDA, prepare for the CDA Credential Assessment administered by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition. Students will review the eligibility requirements and the eight CDA Subject Areas. Students will compile a Professional Portfolio, with all required documents including: 6 Reflective Competence Statements, 10 Resource File Items and a Philosophy Statement, distribute and collect Family Questionnaires, find a PD Specialist, review the Comprehensive Scoring Tool and discuss the formal CDA Assessment Application. Student candidates for the CDA credential may apply in one or more of the following: preschool, family childcare, infant/toddler, bilingual, and/or monolingual Spanish. Each of these areas will be explained in this class
The students will need to refer to the link listed above to order their textbooks. Depending on the type of childcare "setting”, the student has the choice of infant/toddler, preschool, or family child care. This is the only book each student will need.
