Students will learn how to solve simple mathematics such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing by working on quantitative and algebraic problems. Also, they’ll learn how to read tables, graphs, and charts in order to perform calculations and interpret data into graphical representations. Students will be introduced to properties of numbers and functions as well learn to recognize basic expressions, equations, and inequalities.
NEW: As of Spring 2018, TCC Continuing Education is offering GED Preparation in two segments (classes). The first segment is GED Social Studies, English and Reading. The second segment is GED Science and Math. This gives the students greater affordability and choices to suit individual needs.
Students will learn how to recognize graph’s features, understand tools and methods in experiments, and evaluate models in order to form hypotheses, predictions, and conclusions based on data studied in life, physical, earth and space science.
Books for dually-registered GED Students:
The same book is used for BOTH GED Social Studies, English and Reading Prep (1st Class) and GED Science and Math Prep (2nd class) and is included with registration. Students who take both classes may use the same book for the second class. In doing so, students are eligible for a $15 rebate, redeemable after signing in with their book the first day of the second class.
The GED test is not included in the course. For GED testing information, click here. Additional testing locations may be found here.
